FIRST TIME TO BALI?

  • Visa on arrival – You can obtain an entry visa for cash – currently $35 USD – have this handy (or equivalent currency) when you exit the plane. You will also need to pay an exit tax in local currency, currently 200,000 Rupiah (approximately $18 USD)
  • Liquor – Bali has strict rules on the importation of liquor – you are allowed to bring in one bottle (of wine OR spirits) per adult person
  • Bring – Lightweight clothes, at least 1 bathing suit, personal sunblock and insect repellant, hat and sunglasses, flat comfortable walking sandals, your own music requirements, phone or calculator for currency conversions, Indonesian Rupiah cash, personal reading material, power plug converters
  • Provisioning – You’ll want to stock up your non-breakfast needs (drinks and snacks) the day you arrive. The Canggu Deli is next door. For more choice, the Tiara Gatsu (local) supermarket is a 15 minute taxi ride. Carrefour and Hypermart (mega-supermarkets) are 25 minutes by taxi for a much wider range of groceries and also enroute from the airport, as is Lippo Mall Supermart. THINGS TO DO…

  • Horse Riding – You don’t have to be an expert as the Umalas stable provides professional guides and the most comprehensive trotting facilities. This equestrian center will take you riding along the Canggu beach or rice fields and you can choose from 32 horses available
  • Play Golf – One of top 10 golf courses in the world, Nirwana Bali Golf Course, is situated at Tanah Lot, a 15-minute drive from the Canggu area. Stunning vistas and world class facilities are its hallmark, attached to the Pan Pacific hotel
  • Sightseeing in Tanah Lot–Tanah Lot is one of seven sea temples that are standing on the rocks along the coast of Bali. This holy site is a popular tourist destination particularly at sunset and can be reached in a 15 minute drive from the villas

  • Beaching and Surfing – Canggu beaches provide wild waves suitable for surfing. Echo beach is the famous surf beach close to Canggu, but Berawa (Brawa) is even closer to the villa – a 12 minute walk. Use caution if entering the water as rips and currents are strong in these areas
  • Canggu Club – The Canggu Club is a premiere private members club featuring world-class facilities. The club is a great spot to relax, meet for business or recreation. Membership is not necessary to access the bar and dining areas. It’s a 5 minute walk from the villas
  • Eating out – Bali now offers some of the finest restaurants and dining in Asia, along with local warungs (local eateries). Coffee Shops are excellent
